Nature as Teacher

When I walk in the woods, I’m not looking for nature; I’m waiting for it to find me. Nature doesn’t pose or perform. It simply shows the truth that everything is in flux and uncompromising.

Every leaf and every stone carries the mark of time. Everything is decaying, yet at the same time, in a state of becoming.

Nature is my teacher. It reminds me that beauty is not always symmetrical or soft. That what’s broken may be more revealing than what’s whole. That greatness often lives quietly, tucked beneath the ferns or clinging to the bark.

These teachings guide my art, favoring what is unfinished, unpolished, and fully alive. In this fleeting world, nothing lasts, and nothing is ever really complete. But that’s what gives it meaning. That’s what breaks my heart open, again and again, to reflect the world as it is.
