LOVING THIS BURNING WORLD
An Afternoon of Art, Zen, and Poetry
SUNDAY, JUNE 8th, 12-5 PM
Please join us for “Loving this Burning World,” a party of Art and Conversation at Rich and Tina’s. Finding unexpected joy and beauty in this theme will be Zen teachers Alan Sanhyō Richardson, Sensei, and Dharma Holder Michael Sōkei Herzog.
Mid-afternoon, they will share their artistic reflections on embracing the very impermanence of our increasingly fragile and relentlessly damaged natural world: Alan in his poetry and Michael with new graphic art. The artwork shown here is a new piece by Michael (Sōkei) titled October Mountain, inspired by Alan’s poem of the same name.
As always, there will be plenty of time to engage with the artists and each other as we build and affirm our “beloved community.” Artistic works will be on display and for sale. Light refreshments will be provided.
Please RSVP before May 25th
