Art of Trust
That we are here at all is astonishing.
The causes and conditions that bring a life to this moment stretch far beyond what can be traced or understood. We observe patterns and explanations because that’s how the mind finds its footing. This narrow band of understanding helps us move through daily life.
But most of life happens outside what we can understand. What influences us often comes from beyond our reach. Sometimes, something shows up that stops us in our tracks. The usual ways of handling things don’t work. This is when practice points to trust.
Trust is not manufactured, nor does it come from convincing ourselves or finding the right idea. It comes from whole-hearted attention. Sitting down again. Staying with what feels strange or opaque. In that staying, a bodily knowing appears. Life is already carrying us.
This way of perceiving forms my art. I start with what I can’t explain and let forms come from what I don’t yet understand. Right here. Right now.
