Art of Being

Most of your life passes in small, unremarkable moments.

You answer a message. You rinse a cup. You step outside and feel the air shift against your skin. These moments seem ordinary, yet each one shapes the world in subtle ways. The tone you carry, the attention you offer, and the space you allow all participate in the unfolding of life. Life is here, close at hand, requiring no special conditions.

When this becomes clear, the divide between my art and my life dissolves.

When I work, I’m not searching for something extraordinary. I am continuing the same activity. I sit, look, and respond. A mark appears, then another. The work grows from listening rather than forcing.

Each piece is an extension of the same attention I bring to my daily life. The art does not ask for anything different. It reveals what has been present all along.
