Art of the Ordinary

Ordinary things carry a sense of wholeness.

Washing a cup, folding a shirt, or cutting vegetables on a wooden board can feel complete when you are fully present. At such times, nothing feels out of place or lacking.

We often wait for something dramatic to feel alive.

Yet life expresses itself most clearly in what is already here. The infinite appears in the texture of a towel or the feeling of warm water. When attention rests fully in a task, the sense of lack dissolves. The moment stands whole.

This is how I approach my work, too. I watch as a line forms on the screen or a color finds its place. I do not look for anything beyond what is there. I focus on what is taking shape. My art grows from simple, careful actions, just like sweeping the floor or arranging flowers.

The ordinary, entered completely, reveals its immeasurable depth.
